New York -based Venture Capital and Private Equity Firm Insight Partners are informing thousands of individuals whose personal information was stolen in ransomware attack.
The company revealed the cyber security incident in February when it said that a danger actor had access to his network after “refined social engineering attacks”.
Two months later, Insight Partners confirmed that the attackers also stole sensitive data during the breech, including banking and tax information, personal information of current and former employees, information related to limited partners, as well as funds, management company and portfolio company information.
“A formal notification letters are being mail to all those whose data was affected, including component credit or identity monitoring services. Please note that, if you have not received a notification letter by the end of September 2025, we have determined that your personal data was not affected by the event,” it has been said in a statement.

The company said, “Insight Partners’ investigation in the incident determined that on or around October 25, 2024, a danger actor successfully used a sophisticated social engineering attack to get access to the affected server.”
“Once inside, the danger actor began to exfiltrate the data from these servers, and started encrypting these servers on 16 January 2025 around 10:00 pm or around 10:00 pm.”
