Vodafone Idea (VI) has expanded the availability of its 5G services in another city in India. After its start in Chandigarh and Patna last month, consumers in Delhi can now avail VI’s 5G services. It is said that it is part of the initial 5G rollout stage and can only be available to select users. In particular, the telecom operator provides high-speed 5G internet with several prepaid and postpaid plan, bundling some unlimited data.
VI 5G in Delhi
Many VI consumers in Delhi have received a message confirming the introduction of VI’s 5G test in Delhi. However, it is said to be limited to selected consumers. The telecom operator says it will roll the services in a phased manner as it expands its 5G coverage in cities.
Gadget 360 staff members can confirm that services are available in Delhi. Customer aid of telecom operator gave us the following message:
“I would like to inform you (that) (we) have launched the VI 5G in Mumbai, Patna, and Chandigarh. In addition, we have launched the test stage of VI 5G in Delhi for selected customers. We are rolling 5G in a phased manner and expanding 5G coverage in cities, when you reach you, ensure the best network quality.”
Speedtest results through fast.com reveal the internet speed of 75Mbps (download) and 11MBPS (upload) in Connaught Place Circle. In addition, unloaded and loaded delays become 48ms and 58ms respectively.

Interestingly, the speed of VI is now in the area around the 4G network motion offered by contestants such as Airtel (68Mbps), despite offering 5G service. The latter 5G speed was recorded at 280Mbps, with 42ms unload and 126ms load delay.
VI 5G schemes in India
Prepaid users can use VI’s 5G services starting from RS. 299 per month. The scheme provides 1GB of data per day for a validity of 28 days. For postpaid users, a maximum of 451 scheme of VI, priced at Rs. 451, provides 50GB data. In particular, all plans also provide unlimited 5G data where coverage is available. However, the company says it is part of its introductory offer and thus, a temporary offer is estimated to be.
