Walmart announced a major expansion of its drone delivery service in just five new cities. These areas include Atlanta, Tampa, Orlando, Charlotte and Houston. It makes the first retailer to offer drone-based delivery in five states, as the service is already working in Arkansas.
This is not a small beta test, like some. Walmart says that service is being launched at 100 shops. It’s thanks to one Which operates its drone within the FAA guidelines.
“This is the real drone delivery on the scale,” said Adam Woodworth, CEO of Wing. “People around the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplax have made drone delivery part of their normal purchasing habits in the last one year. Now we are excited to share this ultra-fast delivery experience with millions and people in many more American cities.”
These drones can reach six miles from the retail location. Walmart says it is currently building service, but it may take up to a year to reach every store. Customers are encouraged When drone delivery opens in their area. The company notes that it has delivered more than 150,000 drones so far with the time of average supply of 19 minutes. However, there is a weight range, and wing drones will only distribute some objects.
Rival Amazon recently experienced a hiccup with his in-house delivery program. There were two accidents, which forced the company a little bit. It is now back, and can distribute new items like now.
