    ZDNET Highlights

    • LG has announced the Gallery TV, its answer to the Samsung Frame.
    • The set rests on a wall and looks like art when not in use.
    • Gallery TV will debut at CES 2026.

There’s a new entry in the “canvas television that looks like art on your wall” category: the LG Gallery TV.

LG has announced Its new 4K MiniLED TV, which will debut at CES 2026 (January 6 to January 9), will be available in 55- and 65-inch models. The set will run on the α (Alpha) 7 AI processor, have AI Sound Pro (virtual 9.1.2ch) audio, and will attach to your wall so that it looks like a piece of canvas art when not in use.

    Magnetic frames and art options

Like the other options in this space, it’ll have customizable magnetic frames that you can easily switch out, and you’ll be able to select from a large library of art options in LG Gallery+, a paid subscription that costs about $5 a month (but there is a “light” free version).

LG says more than 4,500 options will be refreshed every month, ranging from fine art to cinematic scenes, game visuals and animations. You can use your own photos or tap generative AI to display whatever you can think of.

Also: Why the QLED TV I’d recommend to most people in 2025 isn’t made by Samsung or LG

Plus, you’ll be able to add background music, either streaming your own playlist via Bluetooth or choosing from built-in tracks that match your mood.

LG said the TV is designed for “interiorly conscious consumers”, adding that it will bring a “sophisticated gallery atmosphere” to your home. A special Gallery Mode, which LG developed with museum curators, will optimize color and brightness to reduce glare, reduce reflections and reproduce the true visual texture of the original masterpieces.

The picture quality will adjust throughout the day as the ambient light changes in your room.

    Pricing and Availability

Following Samsung’s introduction of the Original Frame TV, several competitors have introduced “TV as art” sets, including Hisense and TCL. However, LG’s entry is the first time a big name has mounted a serious challenge.
