Christopher nolan Odissi This Thursday opens in theaters of one year to one year – on July 17, 2026 – something big may come to celebrate. Shotmes (just Shotmes, not actually not a way to buy tickets) has started showing on ticketing websites for the selected IMAX 70 mm screening of the film, which is strange because A) It is more than a year ago, B) is still making a film, meaning that C) is not yet a lock-in-in-the-in-law.
And yet, if you go to a site like FandangoThey are there. Shotmes. Sitting there. staring at you. Teasing that you may have to buy a ticket a year in advance if you want to watch this film in IMAX 70 mm on opening weekend, which will be completely unprecedented. (In some cases, Shotmes can be seen on an app and not on the browser, but they are there. There is a screenshot.)
So what is the deal? The iO9 reached universal, Fandango, and IMAX for any comment or clarification on it and has not yet heard back as publication. We will update this post if, or when, we hear back. But it is worth noting that Universal released that teaser trailer for the film in theaters a year ago. And with a one -year vomiting count on the 17th, you can imagine that the trailer makes it online, and the tickets will go on sale for the film’s favorite format as the beginning of a mega media blitz.
This is because if you remember it, Odissi Is doing something that has not done a film before. This is the first feature-length Hollywood production that is fully filmed with IMAX 70 mm cameras. This is a format that fans can only see in a handful of theaters, currently plans to be open in time with construction under construction. OdissiThis means that everyone demands the film to watch the film to be completely mad, at the point where it probably starts selling tickets a year ago, even without a defined runtime.
But movie ticket a year ago? Usually a month, perhaps two or three, is actually maximum for something, actually larger. But one year? Did not end with the film too? If anyone can do this, it is Christopher Nolan. Hopefully we learn more in the coming days, but if you are a nolan head, it is best to start looking at our local theaters now.
