
Every year IEEE members from all over the world come together to celebrate a common heritage of innovation, cooperation and service on IEEE Day. Celebrated for the first time in 2009, the day 1884 recalls the initial meeting of IEEE members to share its technical ideas.
This year the event will be held on 7 October. It promises to be much larger than ever, boulder and more inspiring.
IEEE Day is not just a celebration of the past; This is a rally point for the future. The day respects the power that makes technology improve life as well as volunteers to do so.
From its humble beginning as a grassroots level initiative, IEEE DAY IEEE Affinity has developed in a global festival with thousands of programs organized by groups, classes, society chapters and student branches. The events include technical talks, hackathons, community outreach programs, networking mixers and cultural showcases. Each individual reflects the diversity and creativity of the shared mission to pursue technology for humanity along with membership of IEEE.
“IEEE day 2025 is a celebration of innovation, cooperation, and incredible influence that makes our members worldwide,” says this year’s incident president Abdul Salik. “I encourage everyone to join it, share my stories and be part of this global movement.”
How to join
Whether you are a long member, a volunteer, or recently joined, there are many ways to participate.
- Catch or run an event. Organize a gathering, workshop, or panel discussion, whether the person or virtual. IEEE day is an opportunity to join with peers, share ideas and demonstrate your work.
- Share your festival. Use #IEEDAY2025 hashtag to post photos, videos and stories about your program on social media. See the world how your community is celebrating.
- Explore IEEE Day Toolkit, This includes logo, template, promotional material and plan guide to help make your event successful.
- Connect through IEEE collabratec. attend IEEE Day Community To receive answers to your questions on collabratec, exchange ideas and get inspiration from other members.
- Participate in IEEE Day competitions. Enter images from your events in IEEE Day Photo and Video competitions. Categories are technology, social and STEM-based.
