Today (May 13), as part of Android Show, Google announced to wear OS 6 with its material 3 expressive redesign for Android 16, which means for wearballs such as smartwatch.
according to a Google blogWear OS’s new design focuses on the round display. “The design is naturally liquid with scrolling animation that detects the curvature of the display,” reads the blog.
Scrolling has been given new animations through lists, which are going to give a sense of depth. PIN pads and media players are updated with speed and “responsive response”.
A small feature of the design is dynamic color-theory, which changes the colors of your watch to reflect the theme you have chosen for the watch face.
Additionally, there are new “glenceable buttons” that stretch to fill the display, which Google states that “spaces are efficient and easily.”
Finally, Google claims that the update OS will be more efficient and customized, the battery will improve life up to 10%.
While Google showed the redesign on a Galaxy Watch during the Android Show event, the Pixel device would be the first to try it.
At the top of that year, at some point this year, Android Smartwatches will get Gemini AI of Google. This means that you will be able to talk to AI Chatbot without taking out your phone, and it will get you relevant information from texts, emails and other requests.
Google has not provided a specific release date, although it is said that Wear OS 6 “will be available later this year.”
