Asus refreshed its ROG line of gaming laptop with NVIDIA’s latest GEFORCE RTX 50 series GPUS before Computex 2025 before this month. While focusing on gaming, the company’s high-end Rog Strix, Zephyrus and lapt flow range are also carrying forward AI performance behind Intel Core Ultra 9 and AMD Ryzors. Like its previous launch, the creator of Taiwan has insisted on coming to the market first with new hardware innovations.
In Computex Taipei 2024, Asus Snapdragon X Elite was one of the first people to start his line of Copilot+ laptop running on the X Elite Chipset. A year later, as the AI PC segment becomes more ubiquitous and the price points decrease, the company has seen the demand for A-Taiyar laptop in India. The response has been encouraging for the company’s new ROG lineup laptops, as well as, more than 100 pre-ordereds have been registered in the first two weeks of May-Company has seen the most in the last two to three years.
New GeForce RTX 50 Series Rog Laptop
“I think it is a positive indication for the ASUS and gaming industry that the end users are really waiting for the new graphics card and new chassis coming into the market,” Arnold SU, the company’s consumer and vice -president of the company in India, described the Gadgets 360 in the company earlier this month, earlier this month. The SU talked about the company’s latest launch, its strategy with gaming in India and AI, which is more in ROG Ellie’s response to the market and more in a broad chat in the market.
The graphics card market has seen a continuous growth in India, the ASUS executive said, despite a slight decline in the overall consumer notebook shipments in 2023 and 2024. The SU attributed this positive trajectory of “so -called gaming machines” to their versatility. It is not just gamers who are buying gaming laptops. “Perhaps 20-30 percent of people are using it for material construction or graphics card designing,” he said.
With the new GEFORCE RTX 50 series Rog laptop, Asus launched high-end models with GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080 and RTX 5070ti on May 2 and saw more than 100 pre-booking with average price per unit. 2.5 lakhs. Last week, the company introduced Rog Strix, Rog Zephyrus and Tuf Gaming Laptop with entry level GeForce RTX 5060 laptop GPUS, priced at Rs. 2 lakhs. “We don’t want to wait for the entire 50 series to come and then we launch,” Su said. “We feel that since the premium model is already ready in India, we do not want our premium customers to wait.”

AI PCS
With its ROG range, Asus is a market leader in the gaming PC segment in India, but the company has also set ambitious targets in the AI PC segment. With the increasing demand of A-Taiyar PC, Asas has tried to separate his offerings in three sections of “everyday AI”, “Next-Level AI”, and “Advanced AI” PC. “For everyday AI, the standard, benchmark is 10 tops (a metric to measure the trillion of operations per second – a metric to measure AI performance),” said. “And then for 45 tops, we call it AI of the next level, which is equal to Microsoft’s Copilot+ PC.”
Finally, the high-depleted AI PC of Asus comes with a dedicated NVIDIA graphics-laptop’s project, ROG, and TUF series-which can reach 321 tops. While the demand for AI PC is gradually increasing and the price point is coming down – Asas launched Vivobook 16 Copilot+ PC in February with Snapdragon X Series Shipstate. 65,990 in India – Block is not attracting users everyday.
According to the SU, people will start using the AI application on their PC, in which AI capabilities with Microsoft will be added to the app of apps, but they are not using the full strength of AI NPU at the moment.
“If you talk about a working profession or material manufacturer – perhaps, for example, if I am a graphic designer using Adobe, who already uses AI to enhance your software. So perhaps if I buy AI PC the next generation may be meaningful for me,” Su. ” “But today, if you ask me, would I recommend a student to spend more money to buy a Kopilot+ PC? To be honest, I can’t give suggestions. I can say, you only buy one AI PC everyday. This is enough for you.”
Asus has 40 percent market share in the AI PC segment in India. According to the SU, AI PC formed less than five percent of the company’s consumer notebook shipment in 2024. ASUS aims to increase the share of AI PC shipment in the country by 10 to 15 percent by the end of 2025.
Rog ally X handheld launched in India last year
What’s next for Asus Rog Ally
Beyond gaming PC, Asus has also achieved some success with its ROG colleague Handheld in India, despite that it is a niche piece of hardware. The original colleague launched the country in 2023 and ASUS followed it last year with Rog Ally X. According to the SU, Handheld has maintained continuous sales in India in the last one year.
He said, “I can give you some data points. Now, on average, we are selling around 400 to 500 units Rog Ally in India. It is quite consistent in the last one year.” The number includes both Rog Ally and Advanced Rog Ally X, but the latter part is small – about five to 10 percent of the total, due to its high value point.
“If you see in the segment, we are selling only 400, 500 units in a month, so perhaps 6,000, 7,000 units a year. Although I cannot say that it is bad, it has already not become a big industry,” Su said.
The SU did not say about the company’s India’s plans, which is for the next generation ROG colleague, but said that Asus will be with the device in the market.
“But we will definitely continue this segment (in India), because we see that there are customers for 400, 500 units every month, at least we should continue to see how we can identify a new area where people want to buy it,” he said.
Asus is allegedly working in another hand on the next generation collaborator, which is a collaboration with the Xbox-“Project Cannon”. Earlier this month, online Eli 2 and Xbox-branded handheld online came out through a leaked FCC listing. However, the SU stopped sharing any details as to what people could expect from the company’s next generation handheld. When Asus has news on equipment, he said, people will know. “As all customers, I am also waiting.”
