WhatsApp is reportedly working on a feature that will make it easier for users to see and manage all the media received or sent when using the WhatsApp web. A new integrated media browser, which is currently in development, expects to roll out for WhatsApp web users in the future. WhatsApp already offers a similar integrated media section on WhatsApp for Android and iOS that allows users to see all media in chats and groups on their smartphones.

The user managed to enable the user interface to the WABetaInfo feature and shared a screenshot that gives us an idea of what to expect from the upcoming chat media hub. When the app is launched, the users will watch images, videos and GIFs from all chats in their account.
The upcoming hub will also display two additional tabs that show all links and documents in all their WhatsApp chats. Unlike media viewer, which shows the material in the grid layout, will provide additional references, including the name of the document and the link visual sender and when the file or link was sent.
The feature tracker also suggests that the media hub will support batch operation, allowing users to choose several files and download, forward or remove them. It is also said to allow the material to be trimmed from the date or size, which is also shown for the convenience of a search bar and sorting button.
One of the greatest benefits of the new integrated chat media hub, the ability to recognize large media files for deletion is the ability to quickly identify, which can free the space on the user’s computer. It can also help users find media, links, or documents, especially when they cannot remember when or where they were sent or received.
It is not currently clear whether the media hub will exclude the link from media, documents and lock chats, or whether WhatsApp will allow users to enter their secret code and display them. We can expect to learn more about the facility after rolling out for beta testers in future.
