If you interact with Alexa in any meaningful way (or even in non-meaningful ways), Amazon is aware of you, from the conversation you have with the interaction with the skills you established, and in addition. Therefore, it is a good idea to eradicate Alexa’s data in the name of privacy.

Why did I erase everything Alexa knew about me

There are many eco devices around my house. However, I have found myself less and less recently using them, thanking them to the chipt and other AI tools are somewhat successful. Therefore, when I intend to keep them around for a while, I realized that it is prudent to see what Amazon has collected on me in years and erased as much as possible.

It is quite easy to erase the data that Amazon collects about you to work for Alexa. You have two options to find out: Amazon website or Alexa app. In this example, I mostly used the Alexa app, which is your Alexa devices, profiles, skills, and dedicated tools to install and manage more. However, I have also included some screenshots from the website.

    I worry about privacy

Alexa is capable as, like all AI assistants, it requires input to work. And you feed any information to Alexa so that it can remove a layer of privacy to work. Even though Amazon manages my data and successfully keeps it away from pricking eyes, it did not stop my privacy worries around Alexa.

Why did I erase everything Amazon Alexa knew about me (and how to do it)

    Privacy Overview on Alexa App

If you open the Alexa app on your phone, tap More Under the screen, then tap Alexa secrecyYou will be able to see the limit of your conversation information with Alexa. You should see entries for voice history, sounds, devices history, activity history, skill permissions, and more entries for more.

These are all data points that store you and your conversation with Alexa Digital Assistant. And so, these are elements that we need to take a look and erase.

I have always been careful of leaving behind a huge digital footprint. However, given that I work online, it is unavoidable except for my own and my activity mark. Whatever I can do, it is trying to keep its non-professional digital footprint in any way at this age, where the data is equal to money.

To reduce your digital footprint, you must first know what kind of data you are leaving behind and where it is stored. Then, and only then, you can see the control of the information companies, which is my mission about my interaction with Amazon Alexa and my eco devices.

Therefore, I decided to open the Alexa app and the website, and Alexa did her work through the information collected by me, which I have been interacting with it over the years.

How Alexa knows about you to erase everything

Amazon has made it quite easy to see what Alexa knows about you and erases the data. While “everything” can be a stretch here, you can definitely clean a lot of data that Alexa has collected on you without breaking the sweat. It is all about knowing where to see there and what to do.

    Remove your voice recording

Filtering Voice Recording on Alexa App

Recording your voice on Alexa app

The first thing is to remove your Alexa voice recording. Every time you talk to Alexa, it is not only what you’re saying (to determine what you are asking it), but it saves that recording. Because Alexa is always listening to her Wake Word, it cannot actually take audio for smart home assistants.

To remove your voice recording on Alexa app, tap More Under the screen, then tap Alexa secrecyTap Review voice history To review and manage your voice recording. You can change the filter and remove everything. You can also hear each recording.

To remove your voice recording on the website, navigate and tap on Alexa Privacy Page Review voice history To review and manage your voice recording.

Remove the history of your smart home device

Smart Home Device History Page on Amazon

The next thing is to remove the history of your smart home device. This information is related to the status and use of smart home devices such as smart home devices. Therefore, to maintain control of this data, it is prudent to remove it from time to time.

To remove the history of your smart home device on Alexa app, tap More Under the screen, then tap Alexa secrecyTap Review Smart Home device history> Manage my smart home device historyScroll One -time deletion of history And tap it.

To remove the history of your smart home device on the website, navigate and tap on Alexa Privacy Page Review Smart Home device history> Manage my smart home device historyWith app, you can choose One -time deletion of history To wipe everything.

    Disable all Alexa Skills

    Skill Homepage on Alexa App

Manage your skills on Alexa app

The next thing is to disable any Alexa skills you have earlier enabled. While some Alexa skills are extremely useful (and some are definitely funny Alexa skills), if you are not using one or more of them, you are disabled to ensure that you are not leaking valuable data.

To disable Alexa Skills on Alexa app, tap More> Skills and GamesThen scroll down all the way your skillsAnd tap it. Then you will see a list of skills you have enabled, so you have to select each one, tap settingAnd then tap Disabled skills,

    Deregist your Alexa devices

Page to manage your eco devices on Amazon

Last but at least, you should decide your Alexa devices. This is especially important if you are leaving Alexa ecosystem and selling equipment, but even if you are keeping them around, the deragisting disconnects them from you.

To deragist your Alexa devices on the website, tap Account and List> Manage your content and equipmentClick equipmentAnd you should see a list of registered Amazon devices. Select one, and different options will open for you. You should see the option Unjust The device, so tap on it and move once when you have read Amazon’s warning.

To deregor your Alexa devices on the Alexa app, click equipment To see a list of your Alexa devices. Click each, and tap Settings cog To open the settings. Scroll down to bottom until you see registered toTap more Unjust,

There are other options including nuclear options

I stopped there, realizing that, while it was not technically “everything”, I had erased the information on me a lot to feel comfortably. If, however, you have enabled the sound detection feature, you will also want to review and delete those recording.

There is also an option to go to the atom and request that all your data be removed permanently. To do this, you should contact Amazon Support. I would only recommend going down from this route if you are leaving Alexa Ecosystem for good, though.
