I grew up using Windows and Laptop. Now, both of them feel like past things. While I can’t say to make sure that I am done with a laptop, if I get one and one day, I know it will not come with windows.
Windows feels back in time
By the time I was 18 years old, Windows was practically the only operating system that I knew. I faced Linux, but it was isolated to play with a live CD and an old PC. There were no smartphones or tablets at that time. Windows is the place where I lived.
I switched to use Linux around 2009, when I was in college. In addition to a brief flirtation with Windows 7, I have been away from Windows since then.
Whenever I sit on the Windows computer, I wonder how much has not changed. It is beautiful now, don’t consider me wrong, and some apps are better, but it sounds like an illusion that is only surface level.
The fact is that so much software is still installed by discovering the web and downloading exe files makes it perfect ancient. When i go to install Steam And look at a good old -fashioned wizard, it has the same effect on me to sit in the 90s car. It works, and I know that there are many people who run them every day, but man technology has come a long way.
It seems so misleading and unfamiliar now
Any Linux user will know how many times people tell you that they use Windows because it is easy and simply works. Step away from the windows, and there is a good chance that you will see how much it has to do with easily familiarity.
After all, what is the intuitive knowledge to establish your OS as a C drive to refer to SSD? Which part of “Flash Drive” or “USB Stick” means D. Drive, and why is this letter that can be given to DVD Drive?
Similarly, even though there are more than a dozen different ways to open the new Settings app, the old control panel remains one thing in Windows 10, and it is still around in Windows 11. Plus, while it takes time to set a new phone and remove unwanted apps, it is nothing compared to all that you need to install a fresh windows.
I can mention the Windows Registry and Managing Drivers, but it leads to my next point, so let’s move forward.
Windows comes with too much maintenance overhead
Windows is part of the reason that many people are afraid of PC. You need to remember to do this. Be sure to run virus scanners, as there are plenty of ways to infect the Windows computer. Remember to defrag your hard drive, so it does not slow down (but only if it is not SSD). Make sure that you do not click anything that will lock your computer and subjugate you to ransomware attack.
It has been decades, and people still talk about the screen of blue, or black, death.

Windows “Blue Screen of Death” is becoming “black screen of death”
End of an era.
Smartphones and tablets are their issues, but they just work. This is the reason that so many people gravity towards them. Many have not changed their PCs with the phone – their phones are only the first computers they are able to understand.
I know by using Windows as my primary PC by the end of a week, I understand how to use it. I do not feel like doing that extra work right now. Eventually, I did not have to do for more than a decade. It is like asking me to deal with oil changes, spark plugs, engine belts, catalyst converters and exhaust pipes after running EV for almost ten years. Windows is a large pickup truck that makes me much more than needs, enhances much energy, and keeping on the road requires a lot of maintenance.
There are more alternative desktop OS than ever
When I was a child, Windows was almost synonymous with computers, and Mac had a small part of the market. Linux was barely a viable option for those who had knowledge and patience for tinker with it.
Today, the story is completely different. MacBook is still a minority, but they dominate many creative areas. Many school children are growing up using chromebook, not Windows machines. The biggest challenge of Linux is that it is not already installed on any PC that you see in the Big Box Store, because once you learn it and after running it is very easy to learn.
Samsung has sent a desktop mode to many of its phones and tablets in the name of Samsung Dex, and it is not the only smartphone company with such a feature. Now Google is working on cooking this facility directly in Android.

Why i dig Linux for Samsung Dex
I forgot how big the hardware can make.
Windows simply has a lot of competition. When I am doing it without fixing, I have very little reason to return
I am not sure I will buy another laptop or desktop, duration
Honestly, the traditional PC form factor does not do much for me. I am not ready to limit myself to one place to buy desktops, and I have never been a very big fan of my posture when using a laptop.
These days I do all my work from my book-style foldable phone, a Galaxy Z Fold 6. I do not use Samsung Dex most of the time-I just work directly on the interior screen of my phone.

P stands for personal, and what it means for me now.
My stylus has transformed a keyboard and the mouse as my primary way of interacting with the computer. I am made aware of computing in a completely different way that whatever factor I am in mood, and shapes. Meanwhile, Windows is only a traditional PC friendly, and it seems that it is also working as an aging.
When it comes to considering my next computer, I am not seeing what Microsoft is doing, and I am never particularly interested in Apple. Instead, I am keeping an eye on the phone with great interest because they expand even more powerful, adaptable and capable individual computers.
