Microsoft has removed an upgrade block that has stopped some safe exam browser users from installing Windows 11 2024 updates due to issues of inconvenience.
Safe Exam Browser is an open-source software used by schools, professional certification bodies and enterprises to convert computers into safe workstations during online examinations, which is cheated by restricting access to unauthorized resources, apps and websites.
The compatibility hold was added in September to affect the Windows 11, version 24h2 users to affect the safe examination browser version 3.7 or less time to prevent issues affecting users.
Microsoft says that developers have resolved this known issue and advises customers to install the latest safe exam browser version (3.8 or later). The affected users should update the safe exam browser app before upgrading their system to Windows 11 24H2.
“If your device still faces this security personnel, 48 hours after updating the latest version of the application, you have to contact safe exam browser support for more information about resolution,” Microsoft Said Release health updates in a windows.
“If you are trying to install Windows 11, version 24H2 through the Media Creation Tool, you will be able to proceed with the installation after following the instructions during the installation that is pop up during installation.”
