“BeMo brings access to key vital signs in everyday life that are typically measured during medical consultations. All this new data on heart, lung and temperature provides an overview of each user’s health status,” Eric Carrell, founder and president of Withings, said in a press release.
When a person measures their temperature with the BeMo, sensors within the device record their heart’s electrical activity, measure infrared light for body temperature, and capture acoustic waves to interpret heart and lung activity. This data is translated into the app and interpreted by AI to detect variations from a person’s baseline.

“Although BMO does not make a diagnosis, recording lung sounds and temperature over time, especially during the winter season when viral infections are more prevalent, can help doctors more effectively assess respiratory conditions,” Withings said in the press release.
