Wolfbox G900 Pro: One-minute review
The Wolfbox G900 Pro is a mirror-style dash cam that records 4K forward and 2.5K video backwards. Vedarproof rear camera can deteriorate on your vehicle bumper, turning into a reversed camera. Either a live video feed from the camera, or both can be seen on the touchscreen display, which is integrated in the mirror itself.
Both cameras produce excellent, high quality videos, and a pleasure to use the user interface-it is sharp, responsible and intuitive. The Wolfbox app also works well, in which the video has been transferred quickly to your phone with a dash cam via 5 GHz Wi-Fi, although transferring the footage directly from the microSD card involved is not an option for McOS users, as the card format by the dash cam.
The installation involves more than other dash cams, and separate GPS antenna makes additional dislocation that you want to hide. The design of the G900 is not correct, as I found that its camera was partially blocked by mirror assembly of some vehicles. It is a dash cam for (or at least measuring) before purchasing.

Wolfbox G900 Pro: Design
- Replacement mirror couple
- The right fit is not guaranteed
- Forward view easily interrupted
Unlike the dash cam sticking to the windshield, the Wolfbox G900 Pro serves as the replacement of the central rear rear mirror of your car. It straps on your existing mirror, and gives you a reflective view behind both, as well as a visual recorded by the camera facing forward.
This is possible because a touchscreen is embedded within the mirror of the G900 Pro. The result is a mirror that still shows a clear view of what is behind, but can also be that the user with a tap to wake up, show live videos from the front and rear-faceing dash cam.
It is possible to swipe and tap your way through the Settings menu of the G900 Pro, and see the Volfbox app and the G900 Pro using the Wi-Fi connection of the G900 Pro and see the footage recorded on the mirror/touchscreen before transferring to your smartphone.

Along with the main unit, the reviewed kit here included a rear-faceing camera, which could either get stuck in your rear window with a containing adhesive pad or, since it is Weatherproof, the rear bumper has been spoiled. Here, it doubles as a rear-faceing dash camera and also has a reversing camera, sent to perform the main unit with its live video feed.
It is also possible to wire the rear camera in the reversing light of your car. Then, when the light dash illuminates the cam, automatically shows a feed from the rear camera. The main unit is powered by an involved 12-volt adapter, but Volfbox also sells an alternative hardwiring kit for a permanent power supply.

Wolfbox G900 Pro: Performance
- To hide a lot of messy cable
- Excellent 4k video
- Not suitable for some cars
Despite being very different for most other dash cams, it is relatively easy to install and set the G900 Pro. The main entity involves attaching your mirror using a pair of rubber strips, and is operated with a 12-volt lighter socket in a normal way.
The dash cam has GPS, but, unusually, antenna is not integrated for a modern, high end dash cam. Instead, the GPS unit is a small box attached to a cable and then sticks to the windshield or dashboard. This is a disappointing bit of hardware design, with the otherwise the top notch specifications of this dash cam. The GPS unit takes space, the cable needs to hide somewhere, and it is usually a mess.
I also found that the main unit did not fit the mirror of my car well. The camera is fitted on the left side of the mirror, which meant to install the G900 Pro off-center in my car, thus the original mirror of my car has a little dash out of the back of the cam. Worse was how the front view of the camera was partially unclear by the car’s mirror Mount. I could improve the camera scene, but it meant that it was not giving the mirror to an angle where it was now the scene I needed.

For my own car, a 2015 Mazda MX -5 ND (Maida in the US Market), it made the G900 Pro a non -starter. It was also shaken while driving, and to a large extent when stabilized with the engine running. The car’s own mirror does not do this, but continuously became a lot of distraction by mixing Wolfbox’s mirror and digital interfaces.
Hopefully Wolfbox will perform better elsewhere, I changed it to my partner’s Peugeot E-208. Being an electric car, whatever shaking I experienced in my car disappeared, and being a big vehicle means that the G900 Pro can be installed without looking very dirty. The separate GPS module is still an annoyance, however, and some further camera view was still blocked by its mirror assembly of the car.
It is a shame that some scenes of the camera are blocked, as the G900 Pro produces excellent 4K footage. It is honestly the best that I have ever seen with a dash camera, and is of course equal to a Gopro or other action camera. The weight of expansion is, the colors are accurate, and everything is good and smooth.
The rear camera is almost as good. It has low 2.5K resolution, but still does a big job of capturing too much in accurate detail.
The user interface of G900 Pro is also impressive. The display with an intuitive menu system is bright, sharp and responsible, which makes it easier to adjust the settings. Wolfbox’s smartphone app is also good.

The setup process is accelerated and also makes the 5 GHz Wi-Fi video transfer faster-a good thing, as it forms its microSD card using the deserted file system by dash cam MACOS. I used my MAC, improved the card, to exfate, but the dash cam still insisted on improving it. The footage is just fine through the app, but it cannot be transferred directly from SD card to Mac, so you are forced to use the app.
The recording seen in the app also shows the location of the car on a map, as well as a G-force indicator. However it does not seem accurate, as it often indicates 0.8 grams of acceleration at 0.0 mph. Some data, such as maps, height and G-meter, recording are lost when the camera rolls of your phone are lost, and I noticed how the speedometer was slightly delayed compared to the footage.
I also faced an issue where the map with each recording (provided by Apple Maps) was empty. This Wolfbox app was corrected by providing frequent access to my iPhone’s locational data.
Back to positivity, and I am sure some drivers will like how this dash came as a rearview mirror as doubled. If you run a van, for example, or with a limited rear visibility, it can be really useful to see the feed of any vehicle, rear-faceing camera on the mirror.
I really cannot see the point of G900 Pro showing the view of the front-faceing camera constantly, as it is similar to viewing through the windshield, but thankfully it is easy to show rearview, or there is no camera feed. In that stage, the G900 Pro works like a traditional mirror, but showing time and date in a corner with a simple interface.

How I tested Wolfbox G900 Pro
- I installed G900 Pro in two separate cars
- I used front and back cameras on many trips
- I used Wolfbox app and analyzed recorded footage
To fully test the Wolfbox G900 Pro, I installed it in two separate cars. It was first shown how this mirror-style dash cam does not work perfectly in some vehicles, while the latter put it in better light. I completed many trips with both cars, then moved the footage on my phone and computer to a close look.
