During the WWDC 2025 Kenote, Apple unveiled a large design revamp for the successor of iOS 18 for iOS 26. The liquid glass takes a lot from the redesign visionos, and adopts a transparent form like a glass to the major UI elements. Three apps benefiting from this new look are cameras, photos and facetime.

In particular, the camera app needs to be streamlined for a while, and Apple has attempted to address it, and the photo app, which was already a redesign last year, is now slightly higher with iOS 26, which starts with a new icon, which looks quite like a camera lens from the good older aperture for Mac. This is a significant improvement on the generic iOS camera icon that is around for a few years.
Apple has also given a simplified design to the camera app, which highlights only two buttons, one for a photo and the other for video. Taping these buttons opens more options, making it easier to navigate. When you are in the video tab, you can swipe to reach various video mode, and the same thing applies to the photo tab. When you are trying to select video recording mode, you will be shown liquid glass design.
Photo App makes on that controversial redesign

The photo app has some clean changes for iOS 26, which create a change in the controversial overhaul of the app received last year. The biggest change in addition to liquid glass UI is the position of the button. Apple has shifted the search button to the lower-right corner of the display, where you can actually tap it without pulling your finger like a yogi. Two other buttons, library and collection are in the lower-left corner, and all three buttons follow the liquid glass design, obviously.

Facetime takes things around

Facetime has also adopted liquid glass redesign of iOS 26. All the call control buttons have been taken down to the right, which is a welcome change, given how iPhones have grown over the years. The facetime photo (aka screenshot) button has moved to the top-right, and the buttons fade after the call starts, but you can tap the screen to access them again.
