Igor Babuskin Announced this week He is leaving the company that he helped start his own company to focus on AI Safety Research with Elon Musk.
Babuskin posted the news on X, owned by XE, Elon Musk’s Artificial Intelligence Company.
“Today was my last day in XAI, the company in which I started in 2023 with Elon Musk,” he wrote. “I still remember the day I met Elon for the first time. We talked about AI for hours and what can be the future.”

Babuskin wrote that “through blood, sweat and tears,” he sent a faster frontier model than any company in history, “and during this process, he earned two” precious “lessons from musk.
1. Be fearless
He wrote, “Be fearless to roll your sleeve to individually digging in technical problems.” Babuskin said Kasturi personally worked with the team, flew into a data center and stayed the whole night until the issues were settled.
2. There is a “frenzy” spirit of urgency
“Xai executes at Ludicus speed,” he wrote. “Industry veterans told us that it would be impossible to build a memphis supercluster in 120 days. But we were confident that we could impossible.”
