Stealing your phone does not only mean losing the device – your data may be eliminated in the wrong hands. But if you use Galaxy phones, there is good news, because Samsung contains many features to help you protect your phone and its data in terms of theft.

    Understanding Samsung’s multiple theft-protecting system

Samsung has enhanced security significantly over the Galaxy phone with a UI 7. Update introduces three Theft Protection features: Stolen lock, Offline device lockAnd Remote lockThere are two Anti robbery features-Identity check And Safety delayIf your phone is stolen then these features work together to protect your data.

What makes this approach is its multi -layered nature. Since you have different characteristics working at different levels, a thief will need to bypass several obstacles before reaching your data. Often, this is enough to stop them – or at least gives you enough time to catch them so that you can wipe all the data on your phone from a distance.

Samsung is not the only phone manufacturer to offer stolen security facilities on its phone. Google has already introduced several theft security facilities on the Pixel phone as part of the 2024 release of Android 15.

    Stolen lock

The lock-to-theft lock is an AI-powered feature that provides real-time security against phone theft when it is publicly out. This machine depends on the data from your phone’s motion sensor to detect learning and theft movements, such as when someone tries to snatch your phone and tries to run away with it. As soon as the feature detects a suspicious motion, it immediately locks your phone screen to use the thief from using it or from reaching his personal data on it.

Note that if your phone is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network or Bluetooth device, the lock of theft will not be triggered. However, when it accidentally triggers, you can unlock the screen using your biometrics, pin or pattern as you usually do.

    Offline device lock

Offline device locks automatically locks the screen of your phone if it disconnects from the Internet for an extended period. Once enabled, it becomes active when a thief disables connectivity to distance tracking or locking. When the intruder turns on the airplane mode, or disables mobile data/Wi-Fi, the phone detects the loss of connectivity and automatically locks the screen after a while.

Samsung has not specified how long after losing connectivity, the offline device kicks the lock feature, nor is there any way to configure it. This only mentions that the feature can lock the screen twice a day.

    Remote lock

The remote lock is available on the Galaxy phone for a while. However, with a UI 7 update, it is updated to work with other theft security features. In addition, it is much stronger and adapted to the user.

This feature is useful after your device is stolen or lost. With this, you can lock your stolen phone from far away from anywhere. Once you do this, it immediately blocks access to your phone and its data.

Being competent with remote lock ensures that the data on your device is safe, even if other measures, such as theft detection lock and offline device lock, fails.

    Identity check

Identification check adds an additional layer of security on your Galaxy phone. This prevents unauthorized changes in its sensitive settings, such as your Samsung account password, lock screen method, or my mobile status in smartthating. In this way, even if the thieves know your pin, password, or pattern, they are unable to change any settings, as the phone will motivate them to certify using biometrics when they try to reach preserved settings.

In addition, if the thief tries to reset biometric data, the safety delay facility kicks and triggers in an hour waiting period before any change is effective. It buys you some time to lock the stolen phone from a distance.

How to enable stolen security facilities on your galaxy phone

It is easy to enable these theft security tools on your Galaxy phone, and your phone is worth taking a moment while safe.

Open setting App and choose security and privacytap on Lost equipment protection And select Theft Protection From the following page. Here, you will see all theft security facilities. You can tap I To learn more about them, button in the top-right corner.

Let’s start by enabling the identity investigation. choose Identify check But Theft Protection Enable the tuggle on the page and the next page. You will see a detail page with the checklist. Make sure all the items are marked green. If they are not, configure them first. Then, tap Turn on Below button. If indicated, hits Turn on To enable location services.

Now tap Safe place But Identity check Page. Certify yourself using biometrics or pin. Kill plus (,)) Button in the top-right corner, select the right label for address, choose the right place, and hit save,

If you have a Wi-Fi connection available here, you can add it so that your phone is in place.

Contrary to the identity investigation, the lock-to-the detection locker and the offline device lock enabling is a one-tap process. For each convenience, tap and tap to the towel next to his name Turn on Button on the confirmation signal.

The remote lock feature closed on a galaxy phone.

The remote lock feature is on.

Phone theft is a scary event with difficult results.
