How to help reboot
This is important for two reasons. The first is that, to open a phone after the reboot, you have to enter a pin – no biometrics or other method of unlocking. The second reason is slightly more technical, but just as important. Mobile phones are Two lock states: First lock (BFU) before and after the first lock (AFU). In BFU, information and files on a phone are safely encrypted and completely inaccessible, even with complex extraction programs.
This also means that the officials who have seized a phone as evidence, such as local law enforcement or FBI, would have a small window of time to reach the device, before it becomes more difficult.
