If you have received a Samsung phone, you have got an alternative, mild option for computing on Go: Galaxy handsets come with a desktop interface, which is said to be right in dex built in, and what you need to do, depend on what you need to do, you can be able to use this mode in place of the laptop during your journey.
Essentially, you plug your Samsung phone to a TV or monitor, and shift to Android to look like Windows or McOS. You are still using the same software and the same app, but you get floating windows and easy multitasking.
While a lot of apps will stick to their mobile scenes, you can use apps such as Google Docs or Google Chrome to work while away from home (or just in a separate room). And of course you have access to all your film and music streaming apps, also on a big screen.
How to set Samsung Dex
When you talk about Samsung Dex, you have got some different connection options. It actually works in a wireless way if you have a TV or a monitor with Miracast technology, which is manufactured in it – or a streaming box or dongle with miracast support. For example, most of the Samsung TVs performed in the last few years include, so if you are investing heavy in Samsung Ecosystem then you are already a step ahead.
To launch Samsung Dex in a wireless manner, open settings on your Galaxy phone, then choose Connected device> Samsung DexOpen optionally quick settings panels (swipe down from the right side of the screen), then tap Dex Button- If you cannot see it, swipe on the panel of tiles to see the complete selection. Your phone will scan your WiFi network for compatible hardware, and you can tap on the device to connect.

If you can configure Samsung dex with a wired connection, it is usually easier and more reliable. The cable you need will depend on the external monitor or television you are connecting: you may need a USB-C cable for the USB-C, for example, or for the USB-C to HDMI cable. Most cables should work with the right connectors, but I would recommend searching for those who specifically refer to the dex in listing.
You can also use USB-C hub and docking stations, which is still the work if you want to plug a mouse and keyboard. Again, most models should work, but they do not necessarily do not all work – a part of internet research you should guide you to the products that people are already using with dex. This $ 12 ugreen hub is what I am using for Samsung Dex, so you can see that you do not need to spend a lot of money here.

You do not need to use a keyboard and mouse with dex, as you can use the keyboard of your phone, and can turn it into a makeshift trackpad (you can also use S pen to control the dex). However, if you need to do some serious work from essay writing to email, you might want to hook a mouse and keyboard. That’s what I have done: Galaxy phones, HDMI cables, and keyboard and mouse plug into all hubs.
Launching the dex in a wired configuration is similar to launching it in a wireless configuration, although if you are using a cable and hub, as soon as you connect the outer monitor to your Galaxy device, you should see a prompt to connect. Future connections can be launched automatically (to manage this open settings on your phone, then choose Connected device> Samsung Dex,
How to use Samsung Dex
With the launch of dex, you should see the desktop interface on the outer screen. This is like having a second monitor for your phone, as you can use apps on your Galaxy device as you do in general. You will already find some app shortcuts on the dex desktop, which you can double-click to launch, and show an open app with a taskbar below.
What do you think so far?
In the lower left corner, you have found standard Android buttons: recently apps button, home button and back buttons. They have a search button on the left and all app buttons, which brings shortcuts to each app installed on your phone. On the right side of the taskbar, you have found an array of buttons, including to check notifications, take screenshots, and check the battery and signal level.

To optimize the dex, double-click setting Shortcut on the desktop, then choose Samsung Dex. You have found a host of options here, font size, wallpaper, shortcuts on taskbar, keyboard and mouse how to work, and to play audio through your phone or through a large screen speakers.
The operating dex is quite straightforward. The tops appear in Windows, with a shortcut button in the top right corner. They (left to right) will pin an app window (place it over other apps), minimize the app window, put a full screen to the app window, or close the app. You can change the shape of the windows using your edges and make them a lot about using your title bars as you will do on Windows or MacoS.

Keyboard is a bunch of shortcuts you can also use, which makes it a little easier to get around the interface: Ctrl+Enter (Windows keyboard) or CMD+Enter (Mac keyboard) will take you to home screen desktop. To see all the shortcuts you can use, press Ctrl+/ (Windows) or CMD+/ (Mac).
It all works slow and quickly, and while the Samsung Dex is not something I use a lot, it is sometimes useful – especially when going between home and office when I only need to carry a galaxy phone in my pocket. This is really such a good idea that Google is expected to include its version of Dex in Android 16.
