1. Develop a strong use case
Jethwa said that the OS is developing a foundation model to withdraw environmental features for analysis in a copyright-sensitive manner.

The organization first creates a small model that uses several hundred examples. This approach helps to disrupt costs and ensures that the OS is leading in the right direction.
“Then we slowly build that label set,” Jethwa said. “I think we are now in hundreds of thousands of label examples. Usually, these models are trained with millions of label datasets.”
While the models of the organization are small, the results are impressive.
“We are already performing better than existing models that are out of big providers because those models are trained on different types of images,” he said. “Models can solve a wide variety of problems, but, for our specific domains, we perform better on those models, even small scale.”
3. Use other LLM for fine tuning
Just because the OS uses its own foundation model, it does not mean that the organization ignores the famous big language model, Jethwa said: “We are creating existing models and tuning well based on our documentation.”
OS uses the entire width of commercially available LLM. As a shop of Microsoft, the organization uses Azure machine learning models, python-based equipment and other expert capabilities.

Jethwa stated that OS also discovers partnership with external organizations, such as IBMs and other technology suppliers, to generate collaborative solutions for data-LED challenges.

When the OS provides open access, Jethwa said that the property of the organization should not be collected and masked without producing benefits to the UK taxpayers.
“We are trying to save our data as much as possible, but at the same time, provide the same value for the UK. Therefore, it is a challenge trying to correct that balance, which is a challenge.”
5. Keep an eye on the future
Jethwa said that the work of his organization on Foundation model has proved the benefits of generic AI to open access to the insight into deeply.
