    ZDNET Highlights

    • Plad.AI launches its latest AI wearable, the Plad Notepin S.
    • A desktop app, Ploud Desktop, was also launched at CES.
    • Now users can get personalized and online summaries.

Since the explosion of generative AI, AI wearables have become increasingly popular, and Plad has been one of the companies leading this work. At CES, the company added two new products to its lineup that aimed to take the AI Note a step further.

    Ploud Notepin S

The Ploud Notepin S retains the same minimalist and sleek design as its predecessor, featuring a smooth, elongated tablet shape that can be used as a wristband, necklace, pin or clip for easy recording at all times. However, the company says Sunday’s release was improved for a “more seamless capture.”

For example, the Ploud Notepin S now features an instant-highlight button, which was previously only available on the Ploud Note Pro and Ploud Note, the company’s AI note takers whose form factor resembles a credit card. By clicking that button, users can inform the AI about which moments are most noteworthy, informing the insights the device provides.

    Price determination

The Ploud Notepin S has a retail price of $179, which is $20 more than its predecessor Appreciate the notepin price. It includes a free starter plan, which users can upgrade to if they need extra minutes or wish to access more advanced AI features.

To support working professionals in the online sphere, where an equal or greater number of meetings now take place, the company also launched plaid desktop, which can record online meetings. However, unlike other online meeting tools like Otter.ai or Fireflies.ai, it has a native recording experience that doesn’t send a bot on the call.

Rather, Plod explains that the application detects that an online meeting is taking place on platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams, and it allows the user to initiate a “secure, real-time audio capture.” It also has the option of multimodal input, where you can add other inputs, like visuals, and even text.

Ploud Desktop is available as part of the Ploud ecosystem. All recordings from both wearable and desktop apps can be accessed through any central hub, including Ploud Desktop, Ploud App, and Ploud Web. ZDNET has been working with the Notepin S this week, so stay tuned for updates to this article with our hands-on experience.
