Why I Keep This Bluetooth Tracker Tag on My Keychain Instead of an AirTag – and I Don’t Regret It

Rolling Square AirNotch Pro Dual Finder Tag

    ZDNET Highlights

    • These tags have two buzzers for loud, omnidirectional sound
    • Two CR2032 batteries mean you’ll get about two years before you need to replace the batteries
    • They work with both iOS and Android.

Although I firmly believe that AirTags are the best when it comes to finder tags for iOS users, that leaves many Android users struggling in the dark for a decent way to keep track of their keys and stuff.

Fear not, because Rolling Square has just released you airnotch pro dual finder tag,

Plus: This AirTag alternative fits in my wallet and works with Android phones, too

First of all, these tags are compatible with both Apple’s Find My and Google’s Find Hub networks, so if you find yourself changing platforms at some point in the future, you don’t have to buy a whole bunch of new tags. To switch between networks, you simply reset the tags and pair them with the new device.

    water and dust resistant

Each tag is built with a CNC-machined aluminum frame, ribbed ABS plastic shells, and Torx screws to hold everything together. The result is a tag that’s IP68 rated for water and dust resistance, drop-proof, and perfectly capable of surviving months and years attached to your keys.

Also: I tested a $5 phone fix dongle that made bold promises — here’s the truth

Speaking of attaching it to keys, I like the fact that Rolling Squares made this tag so you can attach it to your keys without actually buying any accessories. The tag has a loop built into it, and the box also has a split ring. Nice touch, rolling square (and I hope Apple is paying attention to this).

This tag is built to last.

    good for 20 months

Tags are also designed to be searched.

powered by two CR2032 battery It’s good for 20 months, has dual buzzers (20mm and 15mm) on opposite sides for 360° omnidirectional sound, giving you the best chance of hearing it when it’s at the bottom of a bag or behind a sofa cushion. For low-light conditions, the shell is built with photoluminescent elements that glow in the dark.

I’ve tested the unobstructed range of this tag, and it can be easily detected at 300 feet. Inside the house, I found it hidden behind a sofa in a different room. The buzzing was so loud that it could be heard dozens of feet away outside and from a separate room inside.

All you need is a coin to change batteries (and replacement batteries!).

    ZDNET’s shopping advice

Rolling Square AirNotch Pro Dual Finder Tag Is a premium product with a premium price tag – $40 isn’t cheap. But how many minutes do you waste every day looking for your keys, and how much will locksmith fees cost if one day you lose them?

Too: Finally, Bluetooth trackers for Android users that work even better than AirTags (and they’re on sale)

These are now tags – with aircard pro dual –This is what I recommend to all Android users. No, they don’t offer as precise a search as AirTags, but they outperform AirTags in every other way.
