A month after rolling new AI tools that make more easy sales than ever, eBay is offering AI tools for buyers.
In fact, shopping can be slightly heavy without knowing what you want, but the purpose of a new AI tool of the world’s most popular auction site is to help.
Also: I have sold up for 25 years on eBay, and this new AI-operated listing tool is a game-changer
starting today, EBay’s AI Shopping Agent Buyers will help find out what they are looking – even if they are not sure. You can either chat with the agent to search for the item or upload a photo (say, a piece of clothes), as, to find the visually similar recommendations.
In a demo of the feature, a user tells the new AI agent to “show me vintage chronograph” in search of a new watch. After explaining why that style of Watch is so demanded, AI currently shows some examples for sale. It is straightforward, but what separates this device is what happens next.
Many items matching Query appear, as well as to proceed with popular questions (such as “show me more omega speedster watches”). You can also enter your question. When the user asks AI, “What clock they wear in space?” The AI agent reacts with one answer and several auction listing for that exact item.
This tool does not get items that you cannot find on your own, but it understands what you are seeing (even taking into account your preferences) and guesses what you want. The eBay calls it “real-time, hyper-parsnalized product pics and expert guidance”. EBay explains eBay when you open it or a future message on a page being seen by you.
The new tool is currently available only for a small percentage of American customers, but its availability will increase over time.
