Cyber security is a cat-end-mouse game, with new techniques more sophisticated protection-and danger. It has only intensified with the generative AI, due to which there have been more advanced attacks, but Payal is now taking advantage of it to be ahead.
Payal, who owns the digital payment platform venomo, has added a new, dynamic, AI-operated scam alert system in its fraud prevention initiative, to protect the worldwide ecosystem of users and to combat scams with a quick-growing strategy.

“We need to be clever and faster than scammers,” said SVP Yigit Yieldirim of prevention of global fraud in Paple, and we are using AIs that use AIs used with more intelligent AI by evil actors. ”
AI-managed scam alert
PayPal is globally rolling out the AI-operated scam alert for friends and family transactions on the Paple platform and Rolling Venomo in the US. This warning system explains the users before sending money whether there is some possible scam, as seen in the image below.
Depending on the level of explored risk, the alert will show different warnings about the possibility of each transaction, which, due to being a scam, adds more friction as the risk increases.
For example, on the highest belief of a scam, it will prevent payment from moving forward. For potential risks in which low -risk signals are detected, it will take less rigorous action, such as sending alerts to encourage users to verify security or recommend tasks.

Payal said that separate alerts were deliberately selected to improve the prevention of fraud. The company also said that if a customer receives the same stable warning every day, the users will be more inclined to ignore it.
“Consider this scenario that we worked to escape: If you send the same friend’s money for lunch every week, but always receive the same general warning to look out for scams, it not only interferes with your payment experience, but it motivates you to completely ignore the warning,” Yildirim said.
How does this work?
To give strength to alert and explore risk signals, PayPal uses consistent learning AI models that may be suited to the emergence of new types of scams, detecting scams that they necessarily were not trained by analyzing billions of data points and updating themselves while changing the patterns.

“With constant learning models, our AI can understand the similarity between a known and a new scam and help us detect new. Supported by our risk control and research, AI, AI, is benefited to consume customers for a possible scam, even though we have not seen an accurate scam even before,” said Yieldrim.
In addition, the model will then remember this new information for efforts to find out the future scam.
