Throwing is a fundamental skill that enables the robot to manipulate the ways that are spread beyond the reach of their arms. We present a control framework that combines the learning and model-based control to throw the prehensils with the legged mobile manipulator for the entire body. This work provides an initial performance of prehensil throwing with quantitated accuracy on hardware, which contributes to progression in the dynamic entire body.

Picking-in-motion is a new feature in the form of part of the autopikar 2.0. Instead of staying stable while choosing an item, the autopikar starts traveling towards his next destination immediately after recovering a storage tot – completing the pick on this step. The robot then leaves the first storage tot on an empty slot near the next pick place before collecting the next tot.

Kyrigami takes advantage of the geometry of the cut and provides unique opportunities for directed morphing. This task presents the inflatable Kirigami Craler created by introducing cut patterns in heat-sealable garments to achieve locomosotion on cyclic pneumatic activation. We found that Kirigami actuators display directional anisotropic friction properties when inflated, there are high friction coefficients against the direction of movement, which is capable of transferring them to surfaces with different roughness. We further enhanced the functionality of Inflatable Kirigami actuators by introducing several channels and segments to create functional soft robotic prototypes with versatile locomotion capabilities.
