Knowing what is real and what is fake on social media has become more difficult than ever with AI. But with some simple methods, I am able to avoid being foolish more often. The best part? You do not need to be a technical specialist.

AI-Janit Marker
This is the easiest way to check whether the material is AI-Janit, looking at the AI marker of the platform. Many social media apps, such as Instagram, have a tool that allows users to look quickly whether a post was generated with AI software.
If I see a picture made with AI, I am not interested in it. Doing so only trains the algorithm to show me what I really want to see.
However, this tip may not always be the best way. Sometimes, AI material detectors do not work; Generic Phil-in Photoshop and other apps can trigger an image that can be marked. Therefore, I recommend combining it with at least one more method.

Reverse image lookup
Reverse image lookup is a great way to see if a profile is fake, but I sometimes use them to determine whether someone has made materials with AI. The irony is that AI devices such as chat are good at determining whether something is made with AI.
When using Chatgpt, I use O3 to achieve more advanced arguments. The device usually takes 3-5 minutes that I have fed it and have reached a conclusion. This is not more accurate.
Many people who upload an AI-related scene on social media do not remove Matadata. When I save images and videos, I can sometimes tell if they are AI from their title. In addition to Chatgpt, you can use various other reverse image search tools on mobile.
Written AI can be more difficult to identify social media content, but it is still possible. It is one of the easiest ways to see if Facebook status, tweet or Instagram caption was generated, by inspiring the AI tool itself.
Many captions arise with basic signals, so it is quite simple. For example, I can ask the software something:
“Please generate an Instagram caption for a carousel of photographs showing Spanish beach.”
The response was probably seen on social media, but it would not be the same at all.
I have no problem with AI caption if they invite users to click mainly as CTAs. In fact, I think the use of AI for such tasks is clever. But it bothers me for personal stories.

Images that look like video game graphics
I spend a lot of time to test the AI software, and during the years of my experience, I have used image generations in many ways. Therefore, I have a very good understanding of how AI-related pictures look-even with the most photorialistic tools.
One of the safest examples of AI social media posts is that images look more like video game graphics. I have noticed that some people try to claim that the photos of the places of places are real when it is clear to me that they are not. Even if I have not visited those destinations, I can even tell.
Seriously assessing such photographs works for every style. Even though the choice of GPT-4o and Midjourney has made significant improvements in recent years, you can still tell.

Scene that looks very lifelong

Photos and videos often have a look that can be closer to reality than older cameras, but they are still clearly taken by a human. Even with my full-frame camera, my images are not correct.
If something looks very lifetime, it is a sure sign that someone used AI to make it. Most social media posts should not look like computer-related imagery (CGI) in films. Deepfeck may also look real, but I use many tips to present them.

No personal insight
Lack of personality is one of the best ways to spot AI-related materials. While these devices are good at writing basic routes, they do not have human personal experiences. It does not matter how many times you try to motivate these devices to inject your personality, either.
If a social media post seems to be robotic, it is a good sign that you are looking at some AI-Janit. You can quickly tell if a post is authentic, similarly you can tell when no one is getting honest in real life.

Asking a question
If you ever want to tell if someone really knows what they are talking about, ask them a curious question. Their response time is not important, but you should assess their answer to see if it seems valid.
Those who produce AI content on social media are often looking for engagement (although not always) engagement. However, you can withstand the scenarios where they are not really experts of their subject. For example, if you see an AI-borne image, ask them where it is; Then you can find a quick Google to determine whether they are real.

Observe object interaction
Despite significant changes, the AI-borne social media posts may still have defects. Object interactions in video and “photo” are a clear signal.
Sometimes, you will see someone inadvertently holding objects. In some cases, you can see a clear size difference, such as the phone is larger than a person’s head. Hands and pockets can also look unnatural.
If you watch an AI video on social media, you can watch the speed and camera angles even when it is a little strange.
Not everyone uses AI for good, unfortunately. While these devices may be good for generating captions that you edit later, some people use them to engage and mislead people. Knowing how to spot AI’s signs on such positions will help you to avoid being foolish.
