Whether it is a mosquito or a fruit fly infection in your yard, it seems that there is no one to avoid those pesky insects.
And when we thought that it could not be worse, experts are warning us to expect a ‘flying ant season’, a peak herd is predicted between July 22-25.
Such as things attracting ants in your home, flight ants are most active during hot, humid days, to take back to their colony in search of shelters and food sources.
What is more, these winged insects can hide in dark, moist areas, and quickly multiply – usually in rotting wood, hidden in the walls near the ground level or under the floorboard. Therefore it is important to know how to get rid of ants safely.
So what is the ant season really, and what can we expect? We ask insect experts.
What is “Flying Ant Day”?
Essentially, “Flying Ant Day” is the time when thousands of queen ants have flew in search of peers to install new colonies. It is more likely to occur in warm and humid conditions.

How to get rid of ants flying safely?

“Spraying only scatches them slightly, and vacuuming helps catch as much as possible. Make sure you empty your best vacuum out so that they do not crawl back.”
While there are commercial-bred sprays, they often contain rigid chemicals. However, there are more natural, non -toxic methods instead.
“Leave the rigid chemical or bug bomb inside, especially with pets or children,” Basel says. “Instead, use a viscous mesh or tape in the corners and under the baseboard where ants are re -organized. A terra fodder station can score any stragler in later days.
Or, you can really just wait. The mess is temporary, and die within the twenty -four hours. If you want to prevent future attacks, with window frames, door sweeps and seal intervals or vaudrstriping with attic vents. ,
Alternatively, you can add a simple white vinegar and water solution, and allow strong fragrance to fly ants.
“If they have already made their way inside, a simple mixture of white vinegar and penetration points can help stop them,” McKenzie is called. “While vacuuming them is an effective non-toxin removal method.”
What is more, you can soak cotton balls in peppermint oil, and keep them in areas where flight ants are most active, and likely to relax.
We can love the fresh aroma of essential oils, but the ants hate the ants flying, and have to live far.
In fact, essential oils are also effective to get rid of mosquitoes, mice and fruit flies.
